While trying to come up with a new date or venue for the 2008 Texas Reunion, we were presented with many challenges. We felt that the new date needed to be kept in 2008 or we risked canceling altogether. An option was presented that we felt was a great alternative. The Del Rio Chapter has graciously offered to combine the Texas Reunion with their Run for the Border (RFTB) event scheduled for October 17-19 in Del Rio, TX. This solution takes advantage of work already done by Del Rio while offering a place for the folks from Texas to congregate away from the hardships faced in the eastern part of the state. For those who have registered and paid for the Reunion, consider yourselves registered and paid for RFTB. One important note regarding the Steak Lunch on Saturday: The Reunion registration amount does not cover the $15 cost of the Steak Lunch, so let us know if you want the lunch on Saturday so we can notify the RFTB. You can pay for your lunch at the event, but we need to know if you want the lunch in advance so that enough food is available.

I realize that there will be many of you who were planning to attend the Reunion that won’t be able to make the trip to Del Rio for various reasons and this is very understandable. There are also some who have registered for both events. I have heard from many that they would prefer that any fees already collected be used to cover Reunion expenses with the balance being donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. We certainly appreciate those offers, but for those who will not attend the rescheduled Reunion and need a refund please email us at texas.reunion.registration@comcast.net and we will work with you.

Reunion t-shirts, pins and/or patches that have been ordered will be available in Del Rio whether you attend the Reunion or not. If you don’t attend, we will forward your items through members of your Chapter for delivery if possible.

We in the Southeast Region appreciate all the support and well wishes we have received from our Southern Cruiser family and hope that the rescheduled Reunion will still give us all an opportunity to have a good visit.
